Hi, awesome game! One thing though, I have already finished level 9 in rush mode with no enemies passed (20/20) multiple times, and I don't get the "Protector" award. Is it broken?

anniedududu responds:

Hi, sorry for that. It is a wired bug, I have not find out why:(

The idea seems great, but the game is confusing. I hacked regions economy which says "you get some money each turn". I have exactly zero, nihil, nada, nul, money each turn, and have never been able to build a building in this game (which costs money) because it's simply not clear how and I keep having 0 money.

Elementalys responds:

Well, I was using floor() somewhere and it would prevent you from getting any money if your economy multiplied by banks hacked was below 4. It's fixed now. I also added the tutorial, and save/loading.

THe game is broken fo rme. Sometimes a grey transparent box at the bottom appears that I suppose is supposed to contain text, but instead all I see are a few white pixels appearing from left to right, the rest chopped off.

In addition, I see scenes, like a table or computer desk, and when moving the mouse over these scenes, a white dot about 2 centimeters right of my mouse cursor appears to follow the cursor. I assume this was supposed to be under the mouse cursor?

The game uses normal graphics, so I don't understand whsy it has to depend on Flash features that are apparently broken on my PC?

Tumetsu responds:

Thing is that the project began as a stage3d project utilizing Starling library. Unfortunately that technology apparently isn't as mature yet as it should be. Originally I had few ideas why to use Starling and regarded it as a learning project. Only later when project evolved I realized that I should have gone with regular Flash.

This game was fantastic, the mechanic was really nice. I've never seen it before.

I would have liked to be able to see where monsters will spawn after a button press before pressing the button, to choose strategic locations (of course when starting the level again I then knew where they'd spawn so it's fine I guess).

I would have liked a warning before exiting to the next level. Sometimes I accidently stepped on the exit while I still wanted to take items and coins.

The game could have been a bit longer, and the ending a bit more epic.

MagicalTimeBean responds:

A lot of people want to see a final boss fight, and I hear that... going to see what I can do about that for Soulcaster III. Also, telegraphing incoming enemy forces is another thing I want to improve on, maybe by giving an animation and sound effect when a spawner is about to start releasing enemies.

It sounded good, but I was immediately disappointed when I saw it is mouse controlled instead of keyboard controlled. And of course there's mouse lag too. How do you even create a game with mouse lag, it's remembering the past trail of my mouse, can't you just draw the ship at the correct mouse coordinates without remembering previous locations?

ZEGMAN responds:

Buy the upgrade to increase mouse handling

It's good fun, there are some really fun weapons and enemies. Here are some suggestions for improvements:

-auto pickup weapons if you have no weapon, auto pickup armor if you have 0 armor, auto pickup health pack if you have less than 25%. Pressing the down arrow during battle is clumsy and also very annoying to accidently pick a stupid weapon that replaces your minigun if you were trying to pick up the health pack right next to it.

-the tequilla move is not all that useful: you can kill those zombies better with your weapons. With the tequilla move, the killed enemies don't count as combos that give coins, and it does almost no damage to bosses. Maybe let the tequilla bottles give money or some other bonus if your bar is full and you take extra bottles?

-Whether you can slay a final boss depends a lot on which weapons you happen to obtain during the last level. So if you have some bad luck of not receiving any good weapons and health packs during the final boss battle, you have to start over all 13 levels again to hope next time you'll have better luck... Your upgrades don't matter that much here. Maybe have some way to guarantee that you get some of your upgraded weapons during any battle?

IriySoft responds:

Hey, sounds good, thanks!

Nice atmosphere and beautiful graphics, so credit for that. But very disappointing gameplay. I thought this game would be like this game where you're a ball of hail growing bigger and bigger.

BeardshakerGames responds:

Hi, thanks for the 'half' credit :). The gameplay is to small, you're right. We tried to integrate music, graphics and gameplay as equal parts, without having one part dominating another. It seems, that we have to put more effort in the gameplay aspects next time.

Interesting game, but I cannot finish it due to the dropdown list bugs!

I'm in level 7 about Australia video games. First I was totally confused, I only saw the first 6 options of every dropdown and thought those were really the only ones provided.

Then I read your comment in NG saying that you need to use arrows in the dropdowns. That is already not normal: normally dropdowns have a scrollbar in that case.

But then, if I press the arrow key, all 4 dropdowns change their option at the same time to the new one! That makes it impossible to complete the game.

Please fix those dropdowns dude! I'm pretty sure Flash must support better dropdowns. Try to figure out what the bug in your code is and fix it? Thanks!

I really like the design of the game, so it's a shame I can't give more stars...

tjubert responds:

Sadly this isn't a flash thing - it's a crappy feature of the drag and drop package I'm using. No way that I know to fix it.

Hmm, sort of not really my style I guess, the game looked really good from the description, but the story sort of goes too fast and random for me. First you're catching a bus for school, suddenly somethings trange happens and you're way older and in some other state, I don't really get it...

FrozenFire responds:

Totally agree with you on the speed of the stories. If I wasn't so rushed that's probably the first thing I would have done was increased the clarity from one game to the next to make it more understandable. I don't think I would have changed the preposterous nature of the game though, it seems to be a big draw for a lot of people.

Amazing!

This has got to be the best 3D Flash game I've seen so far! It really plays like a race game, rather than a limited Flash attempt at a race game. And the music is great too :)

rumblesushi responds:

Thanks Aardwolf, that was certainly the concept, to bridge the gap between Flash and consoles in the realm of 3D, and make it look/feel like a proper 3D game :)
